Your Personal Public Service Number (PPS Number) is a reference number that helps you access social welfare benefits, public services and information in Ireland.

 

Do I need a PPS number to work in Ireland?

  1. If you are an EU citizen you can apply for a job without a PPS number. If you are not an EU citizen, the visa you have will depend on your eligibility to apply for a job. (www.citizens.ie)

  • As soon as you have been offered work you can apply for a PPS number.
