Things to do in Cork in August

Summer is over and Autumn is upon us. This does not mean that all is quiet in the City of Cork. There are still lots of events to keep you busy. There are ongoing events such as Ceili on the Lee and the trad sessions in the pubs. As usual there is something extra going on.

Culture Night: This is a countrywide event that celebrates the culture, creativity and the arts. On Culture Night, arts and cultural organisations and venues of all shapes and sizes, including the National Cultural Institutions, extend their opening hours to allow for increased access to the public. Special and unique events and workshops are specifically programmed at participating locations and everything is available free of charge.

 

This year the event takes place on Friday 20th September. See the Culture Night website for all the events in the area.

Women’s Mini Marathion 

 

The Echo Women’s Mini Marathon will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 1pm.

Hailed as Munster’s premier women’s road race, it has grown to become one of the biggest sporting participation events in the region, with many participants fundraising for their chosen charity.
